Artist’s impression of the Type 076 Amphibious Assault Ship.

Based on the recently published tender details, Type 076 would feature EMALS, allowing it to launch UCAVs and aircrafts up to 30 tonne. The ship will however, still retain amphibious assault capabilities of the Type 075 LHD.

Assuming PLAN proceeds with the project, it may be several years from now before construction of the first hull begins.
